An early 19th Century Scandinavian painted and iron bound dome top marriage or dowrytrunk with all-over floral and foliate hand painted decoration, the front panel initialled "LSDS" and dated "1826", the interior of the lid similarly decorated and with a candle box to the right hand side. The lid is secured with a massive heavily sprung lock with a huge and complicated key.
