C19th Lacquered Games Occasional Table antique oriental black %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
This antique table has a shaped, hinged top with a recess beneath. It is very much in the oriental style and we would estimate it to date from the second half of the nineteenth century. It has the remains of its original lacquer, but this is heavily worn. The table is supported a turned central column terminating in a tripod base. The top retains its lock, but please note that no key is present.

Condition: Overall this piece is in usuable condition but does have some wear and damage consistent with age and use. There is some heavy cracking, wear and loss to the lacquered finish and most of the chinoiserie decoration is worn away. There is some shrinkage splitting, including to the top. There are some signs of old restoration and repair. It is faded and grubby. There is some movement in the joints as might be expected.

The approx measurements are as follows:
