Baroque Grisaille painting Virgin of Passau 18C
This monochrome (sepia) picture so called grisaille could be an oil study for cathedral fresco or bigger painting. "Virgin of Passau" has loose long hair, She is wearing a dress with an open collar, long sleeves, and a cloak is thrown over her shoulders. She has a gentle and sad face, she and baby Jesus look directly at the viewer (what is uncommon for Passau icon), as if looking into the most hidden corners of the soul... The impeccable skill of the artist in the smallest detail reflected not only all the elements of clothing, but also facial expressions. They are recognizable, the faces are very lively, expressive. Of course, this painting is a unique painting and deserves to be an adornment of any collection. The painting was executed by an unidentified professional painter of the late 17th - early 18th century, it is unsigned, framed.
Size app.: 32.5 x 24.2 cm (roughly 12.8 x 9.5 in), frame 38.3 x 30 cm (roughly 15.1 x 11.8 in). Very Good conserved condition on original canvas, age wear. Please study good resolution images for overall cosmetic condition. In person actual painting may appear darker or brighter than in our pictures, strictly depending on sufficient light in your environment. Weight of app. 0.4 kg is going to measure some 2 kg packed for shipment.

Packing and shipment of items is carried out within 1-5 days from the date of receipt of payment (the timing depends on the size and complexity of manufacturing individual packaging for safe transit).
