Attractive Georgian Bracket Clock by Fowkes, Dartford
Fine Georgian mahogany pad top bracket antique clock by Gabriel Fowkes, Dartford, c.1790, of smaller than average size.
The arched flamed mahogany case topped with a single brass bound pad and carrying handle, brass beaded arched glazed door,brass fish scale side frets and standing on a moulded plinth base with brass bracket feet.
The painted arched 7" dial with floral decoration and having a strike/silent dial to the arch above. The good quality repeating eight day twin fusee movement with anchor escapement,5 knopped pillars, engraved back plate and striking the hours on a bell with repeating function operated by pulling a chord.
