Arts and Crafts Oak Armchair c1900


We have for sale a late Victorian or early Edwardian heavy jointed arts and crafts oak armchair dating to around 1900.
This lovely oak arts and crafts arm chair is of a square form consisting of a pierced crest rail and a pierced single central slat to the back supported by squared legs from which extend angular arms supported extending to angular the front of which are secured by trefoil supports. The front legs are of a square tapered form and the front and back legs are coupled by low stretchers and these two stretchers are further couple by a single low foot-rail. The chair has been beautifully re-upholstered in a well matched brown tartan fabric.
This sturdy chair is 40 inches high, 23 inches wide and 18.5 inches deep. The chair is in an excellent condition although the foot-rail displays some slight scuffing.
