ARTS AND CRAFTS OAK SIDE TABLE c1890-1900
This is a really unusual design of small oak Arts & Crafts side table. The base has a tapering design being wider at the bottom and tapering to the top. It has two shelves and a shelf guard in oak at the back so items do not fall off the back. The top is a really good size and is designed to be taken off. It has a slide bracket and two locating blocks on the underside. A really pracitcal and nice unusual Arts & Crafts piece, leaning completely to one of there fundamental rules, form follows function. This piece clearly had a very specific function for its original owner.
