Arts & Crafts Oak Settle or Bench
A lovely Arts & Crafts oak settle or hall seat carved with scrolling foliage and flowers and dating to the late 19th century. This is one of the nicest we have seen, with a high back with carved toprail and central plaque flanked by fish scale carved spars and two wing arms carved to both sides and with a geometric pattern to the front edge. The box base, again carved to the front, opens with a lift-up lid to provide storage.
Of a warm golden colour this is in very good condition and has a traditional wax finish.
