Superb Arts & Crafts bench/ hall seat/ settle made in solid oak embellished with many stylized carvings evocative of the period. Panelled to the front and sides with solid oak arms supported by beautifully carved splats which match the splat on the back. The seat lifts to provide ample storage for boots, shoes, bags etc. There are historic knocks, marks, cracks, and scratches as is to be expected on an item of its age however these only add to the character and charm. This very functional antique bench has amazing graining, gorgeous colouring and wonderful patina that will looking superb where ever it is placed.
