Arts and crafts walnut bookshelves in the manner of Liberty & Co c.1910. Arched top pierced with three heart shaped cutaways over five open shelves (depth 8½"). Solid walnut sides, raised and shaped at the top and arched at the bottom to form the feet. Note also the hearts haped pierced brackets below the bottom shelf. Pine backboards. Some old wear to the finish, otherwise good colour and condition, solid and sturdy, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
A bookcase of almost identical design but in oak is illustrated on page 266 of Liberty Furniture 1875-1915 The Birth of Modern Interior Design by Daryl Bennett.
