This is a good quality and unusual antique art deco walnut compactum chest of drawers, circa 1930, in good original condition. The compactum, which is constructed with a fine reeded-moulded top, features a small up-stand to the back, and a cupboard below. The cupboard doors boasts stunning mirror matched figured walnut veneers and the original brass locking door antique furniture. Inside, there are two fixed shelves (we can remove these if you want to use it as a TV cabinet). Further below, there is a further more prominent reeded moulded frame, reminiscent of a skyscraper design. Below, there are two large working drawers, which are mahogany lined and dovetailed (a sign of quality). The top of the compactum boasts lovely quarter panel figured walnut veneers. The compactum stands on its original splayed bracket feet. The compactum also boasts its original brass floral carved drop handles to the doors and drawers. This piece boasts classic art deco styling in the overall design of the curved corners, clean lines to the tops, the handles and the feet.
The compactum features a classic mellow golden walnut art deco colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

This item is completely original with original brass handles and locking cupboard mechanisms. The drawers are mahogany lined and dovetailed and close flush to the frame. The drawer bottoms are constructed of engineered timber. The compactum boasts its original polish and therefore boasts a wonderful original mellow colour and patination this cannot be re-created if the item has been re-polished. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
