Art Deco Continental 830 Silver Matchbox Cover
This is a smart Art Deco Continental 830 Silver Matchbox Cover. The cover has engine turned decoration and stripes to front and back and a plain spine. There are no initials or personalisation of any kind.
There is no makers' mark on the matchbox cover and no country of origin stamp but it is undeniably Art Deco in style and dates to around the 1920s / 1930s.
Condition is good with no dings or dents and just the superficial surface wear that has to be expected with the passage of time. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
This is for a small box of matches, typical of the interwar years. It measures 4.1cm by 2.8cm and is 1.3cm deep. It weighs in at 11.7g of solid 830 grade silver.
The spine of the cover is clearly stamped 830 S to show that it is made in 830 / 1000 grade silver.
