This very large antique William IV mahogany dining table is totally original, including all the three extra leaves. It's wonderful quality, dating from around the 1830-40's period & can seat about 14 people. It will take 5 comfortably on each side & 2 at each end, because it's also very wide. Even when closed, it will take 8 people. This table is very solid & chunky. Take a look at the thickness of the legs, which are turned & fluted. The legs also sit on the original brass capped casters. This table can take any combination of leaves & the two central legs help support the weight in the middle. It opens up by just taking the brass clips out & pulling it from both ends. The bearers open up on a concertina action & the leaves rest on them. They are held together with the brass fork clips. It's better to come & view this magnificent table if you can, because the images certainly don't do it justice.
