Large original early Victorian mahogany open bookcase in two sections & with three partitions in each. All the bookshelves are adjustable & side in & out on grooves. Although very long, it has nice slim proportions from back to front. The bottom section is deeper. The top section has reeded bow fronted columns either end & the base has panelled front sides. This is a very practicable bookcase & will hold a lot of books. This bookcase is in very good condition, with age related markings, so has plenty of character. It’s just been French polished & dates to around the 1840’s period. The top section lifts off the base for easier transportation. It’s quite rare to find an open bookcase of this size without cupboards on the base section.
