Antique Silver Match Strike / Vesta Case - c1910
A very smart and very elegant kidney shaped vesta case / match striker made from a heavy gauge of English sterling silver.
The lid fits perfectly and the beautifully engineered flush hinge can be seen from the lid. Once the lid is opened, the full hallmark can be found for London 1910 together with the makers mark AC for Alfred Clark. The full address is also stamped into the the silver, New Bond Street, London's smartest shopping street, this would have been a luxury item 110 years ago.
The base shows the integral strike.
Excellent condition measuring 2 1/2" x 1 5/8" x 3/4" weighing 1.98 Troy Ounces / 61.7 Grams.
