This is an antique shipwright's tool chest. An English, pine merchants trunk, dating to the late 19th century, circa 1870.
Lasting Victorian maritime appeal
Displays a desirable aged patina - natural weathering adding further appeal
Pine stocks show fine grain interest
Rich caramel hues to the wax polish finish
Stout lid with gently chamfered edges
Opens upon brass hinges with chain stay
Dressed with inset, working brass lock and key
