This is an antique Saryk Turkman carpet which dates from around 1920. The carpet has an unusual and very smart colour palette, the field being a very dark chocolate, almost aubergine shade and the Salor guls featuring indigo and a beautiful blush pink. The carpet has a typical Turkman design with eleven guls and lattice design to both ends. It is in excellent condition with just a little wear to the fringes and measures 170 cms by 138 cms.
