Antique Leather Top Writing Table.
Antique Leather Top Writing Table, English, Hall, Study, Walnut, Inlaid Desk
This is an English, leather top writing table dating to the late Victorian era.
The black leather writing surface is finished in a twin blind emboss and framed by walnut further outlined with a subtle checkerboard string detail in boxwood and ebony a detail repeated in the legs and drawers and also in the decorative ellipses flanking the drawers.
Beneath the lipped top, the mahogany lined, frieze drawers glow in choice walnut and are dressed with brass rosette ring pulls. Inside the drawers the original retailers badge can be found and reads 'Wolfe's of Birkenhead for Quality Furniture, Established 1894'.
Joining the legs to the frieze section, shaped, curved bracket supports add decorative interest whilst the slender, tapered, square section legs terminate in elegant spade feet.
The back of the piece is finished catering for centre room positioning if required.
A delightful piece, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
