Antique Gilt Framed Engraving of Lady Heathcote
Artist Engraved by John Agar (1773-1858), attrib.
Title Lady Heathcote (Lady Catherine Sophia Heathcote, nee Manners, 1773-1825)
Medium Hand-coloured engraving
Details Lovely portrait showing Lady Heathcote walking barefoot with a building in the background. Dates from c.1810. The engraver and artist are not mentioned below the print, but we believe it to have been engraved by John Agar. Glazed and framed in a later decorative gilt frame, which probably dates from the mid-twentieth century.
Condition Overall in good condition with some wear commensurate with age. Some slight discolouration, and the print is quite badly foxed (brown spotting). There are a few tiny bugs sandwiched between the picture and the glass. The frame has some wear and scuffing and some cracking to the gilt paintwork with a few small areas of loss.
The approx. measurements are as follows
Image - 21cm by 29cm
Frame - 41m by 50cm, 2.5cm deep. Further images are available. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any queries. Viewing is welcome, but please contact us before travelling as we are only open by appointment.
We can arrange delivery of both smaller items and furniture - please contact us for details and a quote. Customers are also welcome to use their own couriers if preferred.
Payment can be made by PayPal, bank transfer, cheque [UK only], and cash on collection.
