A 1790s, high backed, raised and fielded oak panelled settle. With a recently upholstered cushion in Abraham Moon fabric, over wooden slats. Of peg construction, with nicely swept arms and standing on cabriole legs. The oak is mainly of quarter-cut variety, which brings out the best figure. It is finished in a traditional wax polish, with good, firm pegged joints.
