Antique French Napoleon III Drop Flap, Console, Side Table, Hall Lamp c1870

This is an antique, French console table dating to c.1870.

In typical elaborate fashion with empirical overtones, this ebonised table is embellished with brass mounts and decoration.

A curved 'X' frame stretcher unites the flared 'trumpeted' legs and features a stylised Egyptian urn to the centre. The theme continues in the scalloped top which is edged with moulded brass detail sitting above a fluted frieze with frieze drawer dressed with a scrolled central lion mask further flanked with two others above the ring turned leg tops.

A striking piece with immense character, delivered waxed and polished ready for the home.
