Antique Fold Over Tea Table
This is an antique fold over tea table. An English, mahogany occasional table, dating to the William IV period, circa 1835.
Beautifully presented table with a fine rotating and extending top
Displays a desirable aged patina and in very good order
Select stocks present fine grain interest throughout
Rich caramel hues dance beneath a wax polish finish
Fold over top rotates and extends upon brass hinges to accommodate four persons
Set within the frame, an internal storage box accessible with the top at 90 degrees
Striking shaped apron buttresses, with scrolled leaf relief decor to the front fascia
Inset field panel apron to front, accentuated with cockbeading
Octagonal chamfered support column tapers gently towards the table top
Superb demi-lune bulb unites the column with the hyperboloid base
Standing upon a fine set of four lion paw feet with striking detail
This is a delightful antique fold over tea table, graced with fine colour and the eye-catching taste of William IV period craftsmanship. Solid joints and construction, delivered ready for the home.
