This is an antique chaise longue from the Victorian era, c.1870.

A fabulous example of Victorian antique furniture showing classic period detail. The sinuous, mahogany frame of the rear seat pad is complimented by the sleek seat rail that seamlessly arcs around the semi-circular foot rest.

Robust triple turned legs ride upon the original brass cup, white china casters and support the moulded frame that hosts the traditionally stuffed and well sprung seat pad.

The back rest is beautifully scrolled and trimmed with a golden fringe to match the tones of the floral damask fabric which is in very good condition save for some light marks at the lower frieze consistent with careful use – A quality rich, soft textile free of damage and ready to enjoy. From a smoke and pet free environment.

Solid joints and construction, a wonderful period piece.
