This is an antique artist's materials table. An English oak fold out companion stand by Roberson & Co of London, dating to the mid Victorian period, circa 1870.

Displays a desirable aged patina with light signs of artist's remnants commensurate with use
Select oak stocks present fine grain interest with an abundance of medullary rays
Superb caramel hues beam beneath a wax polish finish
Arranged as an enclosed storage tray over a trio of drawers
Opening in unison, the two compartment doors reveal a useful working area
Lopers to each side extend to support the doors and provide a perch for drying brushes
Tin solvent pots for washing brushes sit neatly within their own recess
Removable pastels tray hosts up to 21 individual colours neatly
Brass lock escutcheon in Gothic revival taste — untested, key absent
Each drawer dressed with a distinctive drop handle over matched quarterfoil backplates
Brass inset maker's mark for Roberson & Co of Long Acre, London (C.1850 -1937 at that site)
Plinth base with a quartet of bun feet, riding smoothly upon concealed castors
