An exceptional twin pedestal sideboard crafted from richly toned Padouk, presented in excellent antique condition. The pedestals offer practical storage, one housing a full-length cupboard, the other featuring a cellarette drawer, each resting on wide gadrooned bases with fluted feet and doors adorned with radiant sunburst carvings. The upper section comprises of three discreet drawers concealed within the frieze, each intricately carved with a flowing leaf and flower motif. The top itself is fashioned from a single slab of Padouk, edged with fine carving, and crowned by a beautifully detailed back gallery with a graceful leaf design. While bearing the gentle signs of age that lend authenticity to antique furniture, this is a solid and impressive piece with strong architectural presence. Its warm colour, elegant proportions, and decorative detailing make it a versatile addition to both traditional and contemporary interiors.
