A superb quality Anglo-French mantel antique clock. The Japy Freres movement with Brocot dead-beat escapement and fine regulation, striking the hours and ½ hours on a gong. Convex floral-swag, double Arabic dial. The exceptional case is in red tortoiseshell with a wealth of high quality ormolu mounts, handle, finials, feet etc, with feature ormolu surrounds to shaped side windows. A very impressive appearance.
