An Early French Carriage Clock Carriage clock helical escapement %%alt5%%
An early French carriage antique clock. A rococo style cast case with a large glass top aperture and with a helical escapement. A finely engraved gilt dial masking to the circular enamel dial. 'Signed to the backplate 'Henry, Paris' with outside striking countwheel. Trefoil blued steel hands. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the 1/2 hours and hours on a bell and signed to the backplate. A well designed original 'helical' escapement. Circa 1850.
