Circa 1890, very stylish American oak filing/index cabinet, with makers label presented on the front for M.Ohmer’s Sons Co., Dayton, Ohio, USA. The large one piece cabinet has a solid oak top with a rounded moulding over a stylish decorated apron. Below this are 3 rows of 11 various compartments, all with a stylish name plate and a locking mechanism. Each of the sections rises above with a rolling action. At the side are polished fielded panels, and an unusual locking device on the right hand side to lock the entire cabinet. All standing on an enclosed plinth base. The oak on the front is quarter sawn, and inside each section is unpolished. Very clean, interesting and unusual piece.

Size 176cm high x 97cm wide x 48cm deep.
