Adjustable Walnut & Leather Dressing Stool.


Fine quality adjustable dressing stool by the acclaimed London cabinet makers George Trollope & Sons c.1860. 14″ diameter seat pad freshly upholstered in a soft burgundy leather. Height adjustable from 18″ to 23″ on a threaded steel column. Solid walnut base with three curved legs around a fluted centre. Superb carved claw feet with acanthus leaf detail. A paper label for G. Trollope & Sons to the underside of the stretcher. Excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
Founded in 1778, George Trollope and Sons of Belgravia, London, were recognised as one of the largest prestige antique furniture makers during the reign of Queen Victoria. Their work was exhibited at the 1851 Great Exhibition and features in the collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum.
