A Regency Rosewood Davenport
A Regency rosewood Davenport. The top has it's original brass gallery, which leads into the sloped leather writing surface. This slides forwards to allow space for your knees when writing. Lifting the slope reveals a mahogany lined interior with two small drawers. The right-hand side has an ink and pen drawer, with a small secret drawer behind. Below is a leathered slide and four graduated drawers. The drawers are mahogany lined. The left-hand side has dummy drawer fronts. They are fitted with brass eschuteons and turned knob handles. It is raised on a plinth base which hides four castors.
