A Pair Of 17th Century Carved Panels
A pair of 17th century carved walnut panels probably French ,depicting finely carved double headed eagles symbolising power and dominion. The eagles are surrounded by intricately carved foliage and are housed in finely molded cartouche frames and having outer corner decoration with further foliage and then finished with another molded frame.
The panels have excellent colour and patination and have had some wood worm damage and some old splitting along with some repairs all commiserate with age.
The overall condition is excellent.
