A Lovely Original Georgian Bracket Clock By Gammon
A Lovely Original Georgian Bracket Clock By William Gammon of Birmingham with strike/silent lever on the backplate
William Gammon c1795 had premises in both London and Birmingham and this antique clock clearly demonstrates the relationship between the two cities having typical London style, I am unsure where the workshop was.
having a fine boxwood inlay of a geometric pattern to the front, the original painted dial still retains the name Gammon and Birmingham. With fine fish scale fretwork panels to the side the clock is finished with a glazed door to the rear to reveal the engraved backplate of the double fusee bracket antique clock.
