A Good 17th Century 'Halifax' Coffer Chest.


Measuring approximately 55.75" x 27.5" x 23.5" (width, height, depth)


A Large coffer chest in fabulous, clean condition with excellent rich, dark patina throughout. The plank top retaining original iron loop hinges opening to reveal a substantial storage space suitable for linen, bedding etc


The attractive 3 panelled front is decorated with lozenges, cross hatched 'lobes' and ears of wheat known to be synonymous with cabinet makers of the late 17th century working in the Bradford / Halifax area of West Yorkshire.
