In good quality, pale mahogany, the desk is raised on plinths with 9 drawers to one side and 3 drawers over cupboards on the reverse. The top has a molded edge and cross banding enclosing a gold tooled, green leather writing surface. The proportions of the desk are pleasing and it has a wide knee hole making its use comfortable. In very good condition. 750mm high, 1520mm wide and 910mm deep. Circa 1820 W J Gravener Antiques is a family owned business, started in 1963 by William who was joined by son, Mark in 1981 and continues today with the same ethos of dealing in fine quality English and Continental furniture, mirrors and decorative objects, from the 18th & 19th centuries. Now under the stewardship of Mark and his wife, Louise, we take pride in maintaining the high standards which William set more than 50 years ago.
