20th-century Dutch frame. A beautifully crafted, lacquered, gilded, and ebonized wooden piece of furniture, this frame is ideal for a painting or mirror measuring up to H 78 x W 61.5 cm. This frame allows the mirror or painting to be viewed with an illusion of depth, an optical effect created by its unique construction (see photo).
