19thC Cardiganshire Rope Seat Rocking Chair
Now for something a bit different.
As busy dealers we occasionally come across rare and culturally important pieces that we just have to save. Their originality and condition often dictate the approach we take in order to restore them and help them live on.
Sometimes an item presents so charmingly in this raw as found state that the best option is to leave it as is and appreciate it in its most honest form.
This little cottage rocking chair is of a rope seat design only found within the region of Tregarron and its neighbouring villages. This particular chair was found by ourselves in the firewood pile of a house in Penuwch.
We have treated this chair against woodworm and have very gently cleaned it to remove the dirt.
Not a piece for everyone but for those in the know who appreciate raw beauty this is a very special little chair.
We are happy to offer mainland UK delivery free of charge with this item. Our preferred payment method is by Bank Transfer - BACS, or we are happy to take payment by Cash or Cheque and by PayPal for smaller value items.
