19th Century French Walnut Console Table
A Fine French Charles X Period Console Table in Finely Figured Walnut with Platform Stretcher Base and Original Marble Top.
This fine console table stands on two beautifully drawn cabriole front legs with hipped knees and two straight back legs of plain form. The legs are united by a platform stretcher with concave front, meaning that there is plenty of display space on the platform for vases or sculptural objects etc. The frieze of the table has an attractively curved profile which is mirrored in the front feet which are square but with rounded sides, tying the whole design together from top to bottom perfectly. The frieze also incorporating a hidden drawer. The table retains its original marble top which is of exceptional quality and of fine figure.
