A 19th Century French Walnut Commode with Faux Wood Top.

This handsome commode has several features that make it particularly interesting. It has a concealed drawer in the frieze above the three drawers below and across all of the drawer fronts the maker has aligned the bookmatched veneers so they create an interesting repeating pattern of circles and crosses. The top of the commode is a piece of timber that has been painted in imitation of figured walnut.

This is a very attractive commode that has a nice colour and surface.
