19C Regency mahogany compactum wardrobe armoire
Antique very large Regency (could be William IV or early Victorian) flame mahogany compactum wardrobe, armoire, linen press cupboard.
Lovely large proportions and opulent styling.
There is a huge storage capacity with two hanging spaces and 5 enormous drawers.
This is a rare and sought after style of wardrobe, which is quite hard to find, especially as large as this one.
This piece of antique furniture would look great in the right location, is attractive and aesthetically very pleasing.
This item splits into 8 pieces for transport (the base, two hanging compartments, centre drawers section top/bottom and the 3 cornices). A customer will need some DIY skills to reassenble the item. Components will need to be levelled and carefully screwed together to ensure that the doors open and shut properly. Given that the wardrobe is over 150 years old and been taken apart many many times, a lot of the screw holes have worn and been replaced with others (several times in some cases).
Overall dimensions 2300mmW x 580mmD x 1790mmH.
Two hanging spaces each 465mmW x 465mmD x 1530mmH.
Historical knocks, marks, cracking, imperfections, veneer chips/defects, repairs and alterations as is usual for large antique wardrobes. There are no keys and the locks are untested. There is some historic woodworm that we have treated for good measure (non visible softwood components).
Please note that this item is large and heavy. Please make sure before buying that it will fit in and can be maneuvered into the room that it is intended for. The customer will need to provide 1 strong able bodied person for our driver to assist with carrying.
