1965 Longines 9K Gold Wristwatch with Box


A 1965 Longines 9K gold wristwatch with box. A silvered dial with a light brushed finish, contrasting nicely with the case material. Applied gilt Arabic numerals to the quarters, with batons to the intervals. A subsidiary seconds dial marked with a crosshair to 6 o'clock. The hours and minutes are indicated by slim gilt 'pencil' hands. Signed Swiss Made to 6 o'clock.
A solid 9K gold case, with an initialled inscription to the rear. The case is of a slim design, with shaped lugs and a short bezel. Original Longines winding crown. A snap on case back, stamped to the inner with 'DS&S' for David Shackman & Sons, who were the case makers for Longines. The watch is also marked 'Baume' for the official Longines import agents to the UK at this time. London hallmarks date this watch to 1965.
The watch is powered by a 17 jewel Longines caliber 370, manual wind mechanism. Hallmarks date this watch to 1965. This watch has survived with its original Longines leatherbound box.
