A Small 18th Century Italian Silver Gilt Console Table with Marble Top.
This lovely, elegant table has a silvered and gilded finish, a speciality of Italian workshops during this period. In the rococo style, the it has incurved scrolling feet with leaf carved detailing, a central rocaille shell design to the apron and conforming designs to the knees of each of the legs. Designed as a side or console table, this it retains its original shaped marble top with a finely carved edge moulding. It retains its original, beautifully figured mottled marble.
