18th Century George 3rd Hanging Spoon Rack Georgian oak spoon
18th century George III hanging oak spoon rack with candle box. Nice shape spoon holding bars with double reed decoration to the front. Typical early shape moulding around the base and around the lift up lid. The front of the candle box is nicely inlaid with walnut and a holly oval shell. The whole piece is a lovely original dark colour with great patination.

I would suspect the back section has been a bit higher originally but has been reduced in the 19th century.

Apart from this a very nice item.
