A highly impressive and ornate heavily carved late 17thC
joyned oak chest, with a quadruple panelled top with infill lunette work to top rail,stylised leaf decoration to stiles
The triple panel front flanked either side with lozenges
rounded of by a central arcaded arch.Guilloche & rossette
ornamentation to panels with also owners initials P W, detailed zig zag punchwork to moulded pillars, finished off with a snake curving its whole body along the bottom rail into lunettes,repeated decoration to each side of chest.
A wonderful detailed chest of good colour and proportions.
