17th Century Oak Chest-on-Stand Chest Oak Drawers %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
A handsome late 17th Century provincial oak chest of two short and three long graduated drawers with geometric mouldings to the fronts, the carcase having panelled ends and an over-hung top, raised on a stand with turned legs and flat shaped stretcher typical of the period.

Width 40” (102cm) Depth 22” (56cm) Height 53” (135cm)

Condition and Details of Restoration
The chest is in largely original condition, with the exception of the handles (which are a Georgian addition) and the small diamond mouldings to the centre of the handles, which have presumably been added to cover the small hole left by the original handles. Also, there have been very minor repairs to the geometric mouldings. The stand is also in largely original condition, but has had some minor alterations and additions over the years, particularly the rails. Further detail photographs available on request.
