No of course not! However a fez such as this would have been just what Conan Doyle's fictional hero would have worn whilst smoking his favourite cherry-wood pipe - as he pondered over the 'Scandal in Bohemia'.
Although seemingly something of an affectation the smoker's hat combined fashion with practicality in that it was intended to the odour of stale smoke that would otherwise permeate the wearer's hair.
Victorianesque gentlemen sitting around in their libraries clad in silk dressing gowns and one of these are few and far between nowadays but there is a healthy market for replicas:
But here's a rare chance to own the real thing and in pretty good condition too. Original crown lining long gone but instead a a circular piece of celluloid or similar acts as one as well as keeping the hat's shape. Measures some 6 1/2 inches across internally.
