Six Cotswold School Neville Neal Dining Chairs
A good quality, set of six (4+2) Cotswold School Arts & Crafts oak ladderback dining chairs, made and stamped by the maker Neville Neal in the 1960's.
The chairs were designed by Ernest Gimson in the late 1800's. Neville Neal was apprenticed to Gimson's chairmaker Edward Gardiner in the 1930's, and on Gardiner's death in 1958, Neville Neal set up his own workshop to continue the tradition of making Gimson's designs. The tradition continues today by Lawrence Neal who is Neville Neal's son.
All are in superb condition with no repairs. The rush seats are in a lovely condition for their age. A really good set of dining chairs.
Carvers - 88cmH x 60cmW x 50cmD
Side Chairs - 88cmH x 46cmW x 40cmD
Seat Height 44cm Our stock items are carefully selected by myself and I only buy good quality items which may need small repairs, a clean and a polish. I don't buy any items that need major restoration, but any loose joints are re-glued. Occasionally, some items may have small amounts of historic extinct woodworm, never enough to affect the integrity of the item, and is always treated as a matter of course. We try to describe and show our items the best we can, and we use studio lighting which sometimes lightens the colour slightly on some of the furniture. All lamps are rewired and PAT tested. Every item we sell we would have in our home (some of them have been!!) It is impossible to describe every item fully, so please feel free to email or call for more information or any queries you may have. The items will have no major defects but will show signs of normal age related wear and use. I would prefer the items to show its life rather than strip it and re-polish it, as it's only original once!
