Set of 4 William IV balloon back mahogany chairs
Antique set of 4 William IV / Regency / early Victorian 19C balloon back carved mahogany dining chairs.
Fine quality chairs dating from 1820 to 1850, most likely William IV.
Very desirable and attractive design, with tapered octagonal front legs.
A great rare find, with a lovely colour, age, patina and charm.
Solid very heavy chairs, with no loose joints.
Reupholstered seats, in a very heavy weight upholstery fabric (no wear or marks).
Overall maximum dimensions
Chair 47.5cmW x 54cmD x 88cmH (45cmH seat when sat on).
Historic knocks, marks, cracks, scratches, repairs and alterations, as is always the way with antique furniture of this age. A few historic woodworm holes, believed extinct, that we have treated for good measure.
