Regency 3 Train Musical Bracket Clock

An impressive early 19th Cent Regency period chiming bracket antique clock by Thomas Pace of London. He is listed as working in Whitechapel from 1784 to 1828.
The elegant pagoda toped case is veneered in best quality figured mahogany. It stands on its original brass ball feet and has gilt brass columns to the sides. It also has five original brass ball finials and smart fish scale pierced side panels lined with red silk.
The good quality 8 day triple fusee movement chimes the quarters on a nest of 8 bells and the hours on another bell. The movement has an unusual dead beat chaff cutter" escapement. It may have originally had a verge escapement but when this clock was made this type of escapement was being superseded by more accurate and reliable types and it may have been modified shortly after it was made. It has a smart painted dial signed by the maker. The makers name is also engraved on the back plate.
The case is in good original, unrestored condition and has retained its original finish. However it is around 200 years old and has a few minor marks particularly some minor shrinkage to the four panels of the pagoda top.
The movement is in good working order and keeping good time.
The maximum dimensions are:
64cm (25") high
34cm (13") wide
18cm (7") deep
Free local delivery (80mls), national and international delivery arranged at cost
