Here we have sale a vintage "Longer Lead" mechanical pencil with engine turned decoration and marked sterling silver and also made in England.

This pencil was I believe is manufactured by the Birmingham firm of silversmiths, William Manton Ltd, as all the other Longer Lead pencils that I have seen for sale carry his hallmark.

Age: Circa 1950

Length: 12 cm

Condition report: Appears to be in mechanically good order and still has its original lead, the silver body is has the odd tiny dent as well as a larger dent to one side, there are the usual age related surface marks and scratches, overall a nice pencil devoid of any personalisation.
