This is a long, 17\' 4\" vintage Malayer runner. A Persian, woven hallway rug or carpet, dating to the mid 20th century, circa 1950.

Impressively sized Kenareh runner at 82cm x 533cm (32.25\" x 209.75\")
Displaying a desirable aged patina with minimal signs of wear or sun fade
Tightly woven with naturally dyed light red ground and secondary palette with further natural hues
Provides a pleasing, comfortable underfoot feel for the large entrance hall

Located close to the Hamadan region, Malayer carpets are hand-woven in the traditional village manner
Issuing a chased pattern of Herati - diamond motif decorated with flower heads and leaves
Pair of slim continuous borders, the darker navy blue border with repeating leaf pattern
Finished with bands of short, tightly arranged tassels to each end
