This super Georgian Copper Tavern Jug, dating from circa 1820, is inscribed to the foot rim, in script, 'Burton Benefit Club'. After many years of cleaning to letters 'r' and 't' of the word 'Burton' have rubbed.
The Jug holds a good 9 pints, pours beautifully and is water tight. There are good signs of brass keying to the seam.
This Jug is a wonderful colour and has developed a lovely, soft touch.
